Jakarta City Park and Forestry Agency is about to build 10 parks this year. Those parks will be constructed in three different areas.

to start in second quarter of this year

Agency's Planning Section Head, Hendrianto, said that the construction of these parks is an effort to make Jakarta more sustainable. One of the efforts is through the development of green open spaces.

"The parks construction is inline with Gubernatorial Decree No 9/2022 about Green Open Space which includes activities to improve the quality, quantity and area, arrangement, development and utilization of green open space.

He added that adding green open space in Jakarta by increasing the number of parks is a step to anticipate climate change, global warming, overcome pollution in Jabodetabek, including increasing water catchment areas.

Not only as a balancer for the urban ecosystem, the existence of a park can also be a place or space for interaction with the surrounding community.

According to her, those parks will be completed with children playground, sport facilities, jogging track, retention pool, toilet, and so on.

"It is targeted to start in second quarter of this year," he admitted.

South Jakarta

- Jalan Reformasi, Petukangan Utara Urban Village, Pesanggrahan (1,058 square meter)

- Jalan Jeruk Purut, RT 09/03, Cilandak Timur, Pasar Minggu (3,385 square meter)

- Jalan Raya Tanjung Barat, Pasar Minggu Sub-district (900 square meter)

- Lebak Bulus V, Cilandak Sub-district (1,684 square meter)

- Tebet Dalam 1, Manggarai Selatan, Tebet (240 square meter)

- Jalan AUP, Jatipadang Urban Village, Pasar Minggu (1,981 square meter)

East Jakarta

- Kampung Setu, Setu Urban Village, Cipayung (4,324 square meter)

- Jalan Swadaya IV, Pondok Ranggon Urban Village, Cipayung (2,288 square meter)

- Pinang Ranti, Makasar (4,168 square meter)

North Jakarta

- Jalan Kebantenan V, Semper Timur, Cilincing (2,737 square meter)
